OUR GOALS

01

Build public appreciation for Springfield’s historic architecture and craftsmanship while strengthening partnerships between neighborhoods, city leaders, and preservation allies.

INSPIRE & CONNECT

02

Provide homeowners and residents with hands-on resources, workshops, and lectures that make preservation accessible and achievable.

EDUCATE & EMPOWER

03

Engage developers, builders, and realtors to promote sustainable, preservation-minded approaches that balance growth with respect for our city’s heritage.

COLLABORATE

Our inspiration stems from a shared concern over the ongoing demolition and insensitive renovation of historic buildings, often carried out without regard for their historical significance or the voices of the community. As enthusiasts of architecture, history, and design, we recognize that once these structures are lost, they cannot be replaced.

Preservation should not be viewed as an impediment to progress, but rather as an opportunity to honor and extend the narrative of Springfield. At QCP we hope to give people the tools to preserve our city and demonstrate the value that these buildings contribute to our city’s identity is crucial. Cities that preserve their historic character tend to thrive culturally and economically.

Why Preservation Matters
