1. What is Queen City Preservation?
Queen City Preservation is a community-based nonprofit dedicated to protecting, celebrating, and sustaining Springfield’s historic buildings, landscapes, and cultural heritage through education, advocacy, and hands-on workshops.

2. Are you a 501(c)(3)?
We operate under a fiscal sponsorship by the Community Foundation of the Ozarks (CFO), a registered 501(c)(3) organization. This partnership allows all donations to be tax-deductible.

3. Can I donate?
Yes! Donations to Queen City Preservation are accepted through Community Foundation of the Ozarks (CFO).

Anyone who loves Springfield’s history! We welcome homeowners, renters, students, tradespeople, and professionals—no background in preservation required. We’re also always open to volunteers who are interested in lending a helping hand.

7. Do you offer restoration services?
Not directly. We don’t act as contractors, but we can connect you with trusted professionals and resources to guide your restoration or rehabilitation project.

8. What’s the difference between preservation and restoration?
Preservation focuses on maintaining and protecting existing materials and historic character, while restoration involves returning a property to a specific time period or original appearance. Our goal is to help homeowners understand and choose the best approach for their property.

9. Can Queen City Preservation help my neighborhood form a historic district?
Yes—we can provide guidance on the designation process, connect you with local and state preservation offices, and help organize educational events to build community support.
